Wells asked a trooper at one point, apparently concerned that his employer would think he was shirking his duties. For 25 minutes Wells remained seated on the pavement, his legs curled beneath him. TV camera crews arrived and began filming. "I'm not lying." The officers called the bomb squad and took positions behind their cars, guns drawn. "It's gonna go off!" he told them in desperation. Wells told the troopers that while out on a delivery he had been accosted by a group of black men who chained the bomb around his neck at gunpoint and forced him to rob the bank. You should read the whole story that Wired did last year, but here's its climax: But the real-life story's ending is perhaps a little different than the movie's version. In the movie, Jesse Eisenberg has to rob a bank after two criminals strap a bomb to him and threaten to blow him up. When you know the true story, it's not difficult to understand why.
